About the Author

There is not much information known about author Stacey Willingham. This is most likely due to her very recent arrival on the publishing scene. Undoubtedly, more information will become available in the future.

The new kid on the block, Stacy Willingham, has recently released her first novel. The thriller is entitled A Flicker in the Dark. It quickly became A New York Times bestseller.

No information is available on where Willingham was born. However, she did reveal in an interview that she is very “close to her parents.” She also had fond childhood memories.

In terms of her education, Willingham went to the University of Georgia. Here, she got her Bachelor of Arts in Magazine Journalism. Afterward, she went to the Savannah College of Art & Design. She later graduated with her MFA in Writing.

Willingham says that she had always been a bit of a “career hopper.” Before she began writing, she worked in marketing as a strategist and a copywriter. She, however, always knew that writing was what she wanted to do.

Willingham decided to become a full-time novelist around 2015. She told her sister that she had a million story ideas. Yet, she was still extremely apprehensive. Luckily, she decided to pursue her dream.

On 08 July 2021, Willingham got the news that she was going to be a published novelist. She was offered a two-book deal with Macmillan Publishers/ St. Martin's Press/ Minotaur Books. The author went on her Instagram page to post a photo with the caption, “to say this is a dream come true is an understatement.”

On 21 April 2021, Willingham announced that her first novel would be published. She revealed the details in an Instagram post. She wrote, “I think I’ve read the first sentence at least a hundred times over these last two years.”

Willingham has been able to make something positive out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many writers, it forced her to sit down and write. She is currently writing her second novel.

Recently, Willingham revealed the setting for her second book. In a post on Instagram, she wrote, “Strolled right through the heart of my second book this weekend.” The title of her second novel has not been revealed. However, it is going to be set in Savannah.

The author loves to travel. She and her husband have traveled to many counties across the globe. In June 2021, they visited Costa Rica, which she described as “Pura Vida.”

In addition to writing, the author enjoys many hobbies. She enjoys bike rides and going skiing in Wyoming. She also enjoys hiking in Vermont in the fall.

She is currently residing in South Carolina in the historic city of Charleston. She is married to the love of her life, Britt. The couple has a labradoodle named Mako.

Willingham often posts about her labradoodle on Instagram. On 21 August 2020, she shared a post about his birthday. She wrote, “I will forever celebrate my own dog’s birthday harder than my own. HDB to our boy.”
